A Complicated Computer Question

I have a question. I'm not sure if this is possible, but maybe someone can help me out. You know how the computer makes a sound when it asks a question? Well I would like the computer to be able to make that sound when you delete a file. You know how when you delete something, it asks you to "confirm file delete?" Well, i want to make my computer make that sound when I delete something like a document or a file. The reason for this is, for example, i am very protective of the information storred on my external hard drive, and I'm afraid I, or someone else, might accidentally hit the delete key and then hit space to confirm. So I figure if it makes a sound, like the question sound, I'd know when this occurs so I can be aware of it, and I can know when something is being deleted just in case this happens. Any suggestions?

I couldn't find anything on google for you about your question. but I have a few typs. when a file is deleted you can still get it back by going to the recycle ben. That is if it wasn't deleted out of that as well. Or you could start saveing your files in your e-mail or on a thumb drive. thumb drive is good for if your computer crashes you won't loose files. E-mail is better because you can reseive your files from any computer and you are the only one who can get to them unless someone else knows your passwords.

Heres my question for you. Is your external hard drive with an FTP server? If it is, then why don't you just change the permissions for it to not allow the deletion of files? I'm not sure of any other way that files would be deleted off of that drive, unless you do it by mistake.

long process but you can select in properties for the file to be read only if you are worried of deleting it, manual process but workable

you could also modify the sounds file in windows from control panel sounds and audio devices. go to the sounds tab, then tab over to the list and arrow down to windows question sound and select a sound from the browse options dialogue.

Yeah I know how to do that, but that doesn't work when deleting files! No, what I wanted is that I still want to be able to delete them, but I want the computer to play a sound when it asks me to confirm, just in case it's hit by accident. I dont usually do that, but I just want to take that precaution. But maybe that's not possible!
